“MARLBORO ROAD” GETS RAVE IN BOSTON MUSIC MAG
Boston’s venerable music journal, The Metronome, recently featured a glowing review of our latest album, Marlboro Road. Here’s the story in all its glory:
The Metronome
BROOK MEGGS / Marlboro Road
Singer-guitarist Brook Meggs (cool name) along with bassist Karen Rusk and drummer Mike Levesque bang out a high spirited, power trio driven collection of songs that bristles with tone-filled guitar work, pulsing bass lines and spot-on time keeping. Featuring cameos by November 16th Players Lori Sims Hodges and Jacob Rivera, Meggs and company prove to be a taut pop-rock outfit.
Best cuts on the Marlboro Road collection include the quirky âChance Encounter,â the reflective, beat-laden ode to former punk rocker/poet, âJim Carroll Died,â that features stellar solo guitar work, the wah-wah fueled âLonesome Is,â the high steppinâ blues rock swagger of âFamiliar,â and the romping, punk potent âSpill.â This album just gets better sounding listen after listen. Good stuff! [Douglas Sloan]
MEGGS BAND RETURNS TO STUDIO YET AGAIN |

Preproduction and preliminary tracking began at Wellspring Sound in Acton MA, Sonalysts Studio in Waterford CT, and Milk House Studios in Sudbury MA.
Then, in November 2017, the entire band headed down to Knoxville TN to record the majority of the album’s twenty songs at Top Hat Recording’s palatial new facility there.
